Eligibility Criteria for the HEC IRSIP PhD Fellowship

To be eligible for this international fellowship:

  • You must be a full-time PhD scholar holding Pakistani or AJK nationality.
  • You must have completed a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 3.5 years of your PhD program.
  • You should have completed at least 18 credit hours of coursework.
  • You must have cleared the PhD admission test as per HEC policy at the time of admission.
  • Your university’s Board must approve your research topic and synopsis of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) or its equivalent.
  • You must submit an acceptance or invitation letter from a foreign university/institute/lab ranked among the top 200 universities globally or top 250 in your subject area.
  • The foreign supervisor must not be a former supervisor from your local institution.
  • You may still apply if availing of any other local HEC scholarship, subject to approval from your HEC focal person.

 

How to Apply for HEC IRSIP PhD Fellowship

  • Applications for IRSIP can be submitted online at any time of the year.
  • HEC encourages early submissions, especially after securing an official acceptance letter from a host institution abroad.
  • Applications are reviewed quarterly for selection.
