The Center for Digital and Human-Augmented Manufacturing (CDHAM) is pleased to announce multiple funded PhD and Postdoctoral Fellow positions. These positions are supported by research grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), Department of Energy (DOE), and leading industry partners.

Position Details at SMU Engineering:

PhD Positions (3+ Openings):

These multi-year graduate assistantships provide an opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research within:

  • Physics-Inspired Machine Learning for Engineering Prognosis and Discovery.
  • Industry 5.0-Driven Multi-Stream Sensor Data Modeling, Analytics, and Control.
  • Deep Graph Analytics for Unraveling Complex System Dynamics.

PhD candidates will work on innovative projects that bridge advanced data science, generative AI, and engineering disciplines with manufacturing, healthcare, and energy applications.

Postdoctoral Fellow Positions (2+ Openings):

These positions are offered as one-year initial appointments with the potential for extensions. Postdoctoral fellows will be involved in leading research in:

  • Human-Augmented Control and Optimization of Complex Systems.
  • Sample-Efficient Learning and Optimization of Black-Box Functions.
  • Generative AI-Enhanced Digital Twins for Collaborative Design, Strategic Planning, and Optimization.
