How To Prepare 0.5M EDTA(Ethylene-Di-Amine-Tetra-Acetic Acid) PH 8.0

0.5M EDTA Recipe

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic-acid is abbreviated as EDTA and can be read as Ethylene-di-amine-tetra-acetic acid.
EDTA is a molecule called as chelating agent (A chelating agent is a claw like substance which can get and stick to other molecules. Some types of EDTA stick to Salts like calcium. Other types of EDTA stick to metals Like lead(Pb).

We are Going to Prepare 0.5M EDTA For using in Different Lab Usage (e.g DNA Extraction).

Di-Sodium EDTA•2H2O =  186.1gHow to Prepare 0.5M EDTA
Dissolve in 800ml of d.H2O
Adjust pH By adding enough NaOH and Raise to 1 Litter by adding additional d.H2O.

 

Note: After Adding 186.1g of Di-Sodium EDTA•2H2O in 800ml of d.H2O Stir vigorously on a magnetic stirrer.
